Urso Renan se recupera após cirurgia de câncer em Ribeirão

Animal precisou emagrecer 18 kg antes da retirada do baço após diagnóstico de câncer
O urso-de-óculos Renan, do Bosque Zoológico Dr. Fábio Barreto, em Ribeirão Preto (SP), passou por uma cirurgia para retirada do baço após a detecção de um nódulo durante exames de rotina. Para a operação, o animal precisou perder 18 kg e hoje está com 190 kg, a caminho do peso ideal de 170 kg.
A cirurgia, realizada no dia 20 de outubro, durou cerca de três horas e foi acompanhada de perto por veterinários e biólogos. Nos dias seguintes, Renan recebeu monitoramento intensivo e cuidados especiais, incluindo tratamento dentário.
Na última quarta-feira (29), o urso retornou ao seu recinto e mostrou sinais de plena recuperação, interagindo normalmente e realizando atividades físicas. A equipe do zoológico reforça que o diagnóstico precoce foi fundamental para garantir mais qualidade de vida ao animal, que pode viver até os 30 anos.
