Estado de alerta em Ribeirão Preto vai até setembro

Com a estiagem prolongada, a cidade adota restrições para evitar queimadas e danos ambientais.
Ribeirão Preto enfrenta mais um período prolongado de estiagem. Não chove na cidade desde 24 de junho e o cenário levou a Prefeitura Municipal da cidade a decretar, na última segunda-feira (21), estado de alerta ambiental.
A decisão vale até o fim de setembro e impõe uma série de restrições, especialmente relacionadas ao uso do fogo.
Durante a vigência do decreto, as queimadas estão proibidas em qualquer área do município, seja urbana, rural, pública ou privada. O objetivo é evitar incêndios e prejuízos ambientais agravados pelo tempo seco e pela baixa umidade do ar, comuns nesta época do ano.
Quem descumprir a norma poderá ser multado em até 180 UFESPs, o equivalente a R$6,6 mil. Além disso, o infrator poderá ser obrigado a reparar os danos causados, adotar medidas compensatórias e até responder civil e criminalmente, dependendo da gravidade do caso.
